Sixty East Designs creator Jane Adrianse creates eclectic boho pieces of jewelry using artisan beads and gemstones. She recently purchased some of my bracelet bars and pendants and made such lovely pieces I asked her if I could share her work with you!
Jane began her creative journey in her early fifties. At the time, she was exploring arts and crafts in several different forms. Through this process, she realized her passion was creating jewelry.
She is self-taught and a full-time creator. She is always working on something, and it shows when you visit her Etsy Shop. The shop is full of color and texture, and her work sparkles! It is obvious that she thoroughly enjoys the process.
Jane says, “I am very visual and get inspiration by looking at a focal bead and imagining the colors I would use. I like to look at color first.” She takes time to think about what she can do with each focal bead or gem to make the final piece unique. Taking cues from Mother Nature, works of art, and color, she puts the final pieces together to make beautiful wearable art.
Working with any artisan beads, whether lampwork, enameled, or ceramic, is fun, but she really loves working with gemstones. Thanks, Jane, for using some of my ceramic pieces in your work.
Jane shares that she doesn’t consider herself to be in the business of making jewelry for money. “It is so gratifying when someone buys something that I have created. It’s the connection that is important. Jewelry is an expression of oneself. I probably give away more than I sell!”
I hope you can take a moment and visit Jane’s shop, Sixty East Designs. I trust you will enjoy it!
